We strive to be a church shaped by the gospel of Jesus Christ and driven by the word of God seeking to extend hope to those around us.

We believe that the good news of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection is the ultimate hope for our world. We strive to be a church where this message is continually transforming us by the power of the Holy Spirit and creates a culture of grace amongst us.
We recognize the Word of God as the supreme authority in the church. By it we are nurtured, exhorted, challenged and pointed to Jesus as our only hope of eternal life. We strive to be a church where the Bible is placed at the centre of our activities as we seek to grow in our knowledge of the truth.
We desire that the hope of Christ may be known by others, both within the local community surrounding the church as well as those we encounter in the different areas of life and work where God has placed us. As witnesses of the risen Jesus, we are called to be his ‘ambassadors’, extending the love and hope that we have found in Him.

At Hillbank Church, we believe in…

The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.

The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.

The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.

The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.

The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.

The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.

The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.

The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.

The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.

The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.

We're so glad you've found us today.

Whether you're new to Hillbank Church or completely new to church and unsure what to expect, the most important thing is this: come as you are.

Shirt, tie, t-shirt, jeans, trainers, broken, hurting - no matter where you've come from or what you're carrying, you will find a welcome here.
The message of Hillbank Church - and the gospel - is simple: love, forgiveness and acceptance.

Are you new to Hillbank Church but have been to church before?
Maybe you've recently moved to the area, or you're looking for a new church home. We'd love to help you get connected and settled in.

Are you completely new to church?
If this is your first time exploring faith or church life, we're here to walk alongside you. We know stepping into something new can feel daunting, but you're not alone - we'd love to meet you and help you feel at home.

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 11:15am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 20-25 minutes early to ensure you get refreshments and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team at the entrance doors.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits before the service. It is a great way to meet people. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. There are disabled toilets available too.

Our Service

The main service begins at 11:15am. With a time of sung worship, typically 2 or 3 songs, led by our band. The chairman will share news and notices about what’s going on in the life of the church. Someone will pray out loud and a Bible passage will be read. News and notices will shared, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our preaching team will then share a sermon that is Bible-based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a final song of worship.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

Creche (0 months to 3 years). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/carer at all times.
Sunday Club (3-11 years)
Searchers (12-15 years)
Young people (15+ years) Stay in service.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the end of the notices someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.
The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, songs, bible stories, craft, and fun games. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.

Getting Connected

Small Group Bible Studies

While Sunday mornings are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small group Bible studies will allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make Sundays run smoothly, you can sign up to serve on a team.
